Objectives, Further Information & Requirements.

Aim.
This course is designed to provide all aircraft / helicopter crew and passengers traveling over water with the knowledge and skills necessary to react to an aircraft / helicopter ditching emergency, care for themselves in a sea survival situation and participate to the maximum extent in their rescue.

Content.

  • Hazards to aircraft / helicopter and personnel during over water operations
  • Safety and survival equipment requirements and utilization
  • Pre-ditching considerations and procedures
  • Emergency ditching and evacuation procedures
  • Trainees experience a variety of realistic, hands-on scenarios, using PETSTM (Practical in dunking tank): 
  • Upright emergency evacuation, 
  • Semi-submerged evacuation, 
  • Roll-over / inverted underwater egress, 
  • Lights-out egress, 
  • Smoke-filled cabin experience

Duration.
One day (4-Hours), for upto 10 trainees. Maximum trainees per course are 10 and minimum number is 2.

Prerequisites.

  • A registration form completed and submitted prior to course.
  • A statement of health form completed on the first day of the course.
  • Trainees are expected to be in a good state of health and physically capable of fully taking part in all program activities. Those trainees in non-compliance will be refused and billed the full program fee.

Certification.
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive a School of Synergic Studies certificate.

Validity.
The validity of the course is 24 months from the date of completion. There is a Biennial renewal requirement as per Brunei, Indonesia, Europe and Canada offshore safety guidelines. 

Clothing on Class Day.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing for the classroom portions of the training. All trainees should bring a swimming costume / bathing suit. We provide boiler suits / coveralls to wear over bathing suits during training tank sessions. Shower, towels and changing room facilities are provided. Trainees are responsible for obtaining their own meals. However we provide tea and snacks during the programme.

Alcohol & Nicotine Policy.
No alcohol or drugs may be consumed by trainees during course times. Trainees are also advised to refrain from having alcohol on the night previous to the course. Heavy smokers experience difficulty in holding breath underwater during dunker tank simulation exercises. Cutting down smoking during 24 hrs preceding the course would help derive maximum benefit of this course. 

Registration Procedure.
Complete the pre-registration form for the desired course. Mail or fax form back to SSS. A staff member will contact you with a registration confirmation number and corresponding available training dates.

Please call Ms. Ashwini ( 022 - 2570 4425 /4426). Courses are scheduled based on minimum trainee registration requirements from 
Monday to Saturday - 
1st shift: 0800-1200; 
2nd shift: 1300-1700.
